Genesis 28:18-19

18So early in the morning Jacob took the stone that he had put under his head and set it up afor a pillar band poured oil on the top of it. 19He called the name of that place cBethel,
 Bethel means the house of God
but the name of the city was Luz at the first.

Genesis 31:45-52

45So Jacob etook a stone and set it up as a pillar. 46And Jacob said to his kinsmen, “Gather stones.” And they took stones and made a heap, and they ate there by the heap. 47Laban called it Jegar-sahadutha,
Aramaic the heap of witness
but Jacob called it Galeed.
Hebrew the heap of witness
48Laban said, hThis heap is a witness between you and me today.” Therefore he named it Galeed, 49 iand Mizpah,
 Mizpah means watchpost
for he said, “The Lord watch between you and me, when we are out of one another’s sight.
50If you oppress my daughters, or if you take wives besides my daughters, although no one is with us, see, kGod is witness between you and me.”

51Then Laban said to Jacob, “See this heap and the pillar, which I have set between you and me. 52 lThis heap is a witness, and the pillar is a witness, that I will not pass over this heap to you, and you will not pass over this heap and this pillar to me, to do harm.

Genesis 35:14

14And Jacob mset up a pillar in the place where he had spoken with him, a pillar of stone. He poured out a drink offering on it and poured oil on it.

Joshua 4:9

9And Joshua set up
Or  Joshua had set up
twelve stones in the midst of the Jordan, oin the place where the feet of the priests bearing the ark of the covenant had stood; and they are there to this day.

Joshua 4:20-24

20And pthose twelve stones, which they took out of the Jordan, Joshua set up at Gilgal. 21And he said to the people of Israel, qWhen your children ask their fathers in times to come, ‘What do these stones mean?’ 22then you shall let your children know, rIsrael passed over this Jordan on dry ground.’ 23For the Lord your God dried up the waters of the Jordan for you until you passed over, as the Lord your God did to the Red Sea, swhich he dried up for us until we passed over, 24 tso that all the peoples of the earth may know that the hand of the Lord is umighty, that you may vfear the Lord your God forever.”

Joshua 24:26-27

26And Joshua xwrote these words in the Book of the Law of God. And yhe took a large stone and set it up there zunder the terebinth that was by the sanctuary of the Lord. 27And Joshua said to all the people, “Behold, aathis stone shall be a witness against us, for abit has heard all the words of the Lord that he spoke to us. Therefore it shall be a witness against you, lest you deal falsely with your God.”

Isaiah 19:19

19In that day there will be an acaltar to the Lord in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a adpillar to the Lord at its border.
